The Central Bank of Nigeria Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) on Tuesday retained the high record interest rate at 14 per cent.
The Central Bank Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele announced this in Abuja during a news conference on the outcome of the last MPC meeting in 2016.
All MPC members unanimously voted to: retain Monetary Policy Rate at 14 per cent, the Cash Reserve Ratio at 22.50 per cent and the Liquidity Ratio at 30 per cent.
Analysts’ consensus had projected that the committee was not likely to announce any policy changes.
