The commissioner of police in Osun State, Mr Olafimihan Adeoye, on Tuesday reiterated that the ban on police checkpoints on the roads still subsists and warned that any policeman that flout the order would be severely dealt with.
The police boss said this in a chat with journalists during a workshop organised for operatives of police Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) drawn from Osun, Oyo and Ondo state police commands under Zone II of the Nigerian Police Force.
Adeoye said that road blocks remained banned as ordered by the police headquarters but he noted that there could be stop and search activities where such may be necessary in certain circumstances.
