Former head of state General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd) has stated that the strategy adopted by Defence Headquarters to rescue the abducted Chibok schoolgirls was appropriate even as he said he would be ready to support northern governors to end insurgency in the region.
IBB stated this at his residence yesterday in Minna while answering journalists’ questions after a delegation from National Population Commission led by the federal commissioner representing Niger State, Barrister Aliyu Datti, paid him a courtesy visit.
The former Nigeria leader also called on Nigerians to live above ethnic and religious sentiment, and not to go to war on issues that relate to census, saying the exercise was “just a routine exercise to know our population growth.”
