Chris Bassey, Nollywood actor (born Kingsley Christopher Bassey) was recently arrested for allegedly disrupting an Arik Air flight with a hoax call, which claimed a female passenger on the flight from Enugu to Lagos was infected with the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).
Shortly after allegedly receiving the call from the actor, authorities swung into action and the female passenger in question was tested upon her arrival in Lagos. When she tested negative, the airline contacted the police who arrested Bassey. Bassey has been scheduled to be charged to count on Monday for raising a false alarm and disrupting the airline's operations amongst other charges.
In a dramatic twist, the female passenger disclosed to the airline that Bassey was her boyfriend before they had a misunderstanding adding that he called to airline to hurt her because they were not on good terms.
