The Civil Societies for Emancipation of Osun State has risen to her defence, claiming that the judge accuser's marriage to Mr Richard-Obire had been long dissolved by Justice (Mrs.) L.A.M Folami of Ikeja High Court.
In a statement signed by Chairman and its Director of Mobilisation, Adeniyi Sulaiman and Rev. Theophilus Ayodeji, the group reacted to the query issued to the judge by the National Judicial Council as a diversion from responsibility as the NJC appears to be falling into the antics of politicians by turning the body into a customary court where marital issues are being settled.
The group said the Mrs Richard-Obire's former husband was free to fall in love with anybody he chooses. The group also criticised the estranged woman's counsel, Mr Femi Falana, for allegedly digging up the case to discredit the judge. It accused Falana of working for Governor Rauf Aregbesola to disparage the judge because of her petition to the House of Assembly that the governor should be impeached.
The group said it had thoroughly investigated the matter and found out that the divorce case which was filed by Mrs. Richard-Obire's lawyer, Femi Falana in 2012 had been decided at an Ikeja High Court in Lagos. The case with suit number ID/473HD/2012 had been decided and the court, presided over by Justice (Mrs) L.A.M Folami, had legally dissolved the marriage and so the case remained closed.
The group also said it found out that Emily's former husband, Mr. Richard Obire had to file a divorce case because he caught his wife (Emily) having an extra-marital affair in Ikeja, Lagos State in the year 2010.
