MEMBERS of the Conference Committee on Political Matters have agreed to expunge the contentious immunity clause for the president, his vice, governors and their assistants from the constitution.

However, the members Thursday gave an exception to the rule, adding that in case of civil offences, the president, vice, governor and his deputy are protected by the law.
