The Federal Operations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Zone A, Ikeja, says no life was lost in its officers’ encounter with an alleged rice smuggler in the early hours of Wednesday in Lagos.
The Public Relations Officer of the unit, Jerry Attah, made the clarification in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos.
Attah said the unit was responding to reports by some online media that some officers of the FOU Zone A shot an unknown smugglerwhose bus was conveying smuggled rice at Abule Egba Area of Lagos State.
