Nigeria - Dangote's proposed 650,000 barrels per day Refinery Complex and Fertiliser Plant in the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos State, is to cost $11bn, Punch reports.
The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mrs. Olusola Oworu, said this in Alausa, Ikeja on Thursday, adding that “massive construction” work was ongoing in the refinery.
“As we speak, massive construction work is ongoing at the Dangote site. The project is envisaged to create 20,000 jobs during construction.”
Oworu added that about 8,000 engineers would be required during the construction.
She said the project would be completed by the end of 2016.
