Festus Ebea, the deputy speaker of Edo state house of assembly has been impeached.
According to PUNCH, Ebea was impeached on Wednesday on allegations of misconduct and misdemeanor. 15 lawmakers, including the Speaker of the House, Uyi Igbe, endorsed the impeachment when it held plenary at an old chamber located at the Government House in Benin.
After the impeachment, Victor Edoror was elected as the new Deputy speaker of the house. The oath of office was administered to him immediately.
