The Media is rife with rumours that Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, acting Governor of Adamawa state bought 21 Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) valued at N300 million for Local government chairmen in the state.

The rumours claimed that the jeeps were used to lobby local government bosses who were seen as loyalists of impeached Gov. Murtala Nyako.

However, THE SUN reported that Mr Solomon Kumangar, Chief Press Secretary to Fintiri, said the acting governor had no hand in the purchase of the jeeps. He said the deal was nitiated and approved by Nyako before his impeachment.

"Besides, the jeeps were recovered by security agents from Nyako’s top functionaries by the Acting Governor after complaints lodged by the ALGON", the acting Governor's Press Secretary said.

Also, Chairman of Maiba Local Government Area, Mallam Muhammed Jubrilla also said the opposition’s claim is not true.

You've heard there side of the story. Do you think the acting Governor of Adamawa state purchased those Jeeps?
