Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa has passed a medical at Chelsea and he's expected to complete his contract with the Stamford Bridge outfit soon.

The Brazilian-born Spanish striker had a £32-million buy-out clause in his Atletico Madrid contract which the Blues have triggered.

It is understood that Chelsea activated the buy-out clause in the striker's contract with Atletico Madrid, and what is now left for the player to negotiate the personal terms to complete the move.

Costa who won the 2013/14 La Liga title with Diego Simeone men will be representing Spain at the Brazil 2014 world cup despite suffering from Injury.

The 25-year old was since linked with Chelsea this year but Atletico's progress in the Champions League halted the announcement.

Costa has been one of the hottest properties in Europe, with the Brazilian born player netting 36 goals in 52 games for Atletico this past season.

It is not yet known if Fernando Torres will be part of the deal to bring Costa the other way round.

Jose Mourinho constantly harped on the number of goals his strikers scored last season, revealing that their priority will be to reinforce in attack.

Not surprising that Chelsea have moved to signed Diego Costa,as they look to rebuild next season.
