Nigeria - There are indications that newly inaugurated Sen. Dino Melaye will be vying for the Kogi guber seat later this year, TRIBUNE says.
He is yet to make his ambition public.
Melaye, from Okun state of the area would be joining about 20 other contenders, including the state APC leader and former governor, Prince Abubakar Audu, of whom he's a staunch supporter.
The senator representing Kogi West senatorial district, may have perfected plans to join the race to succeed Captain Idris Wada, as reports say he believes the next governor of the state should be a Yoruba man.
He was said to have, during the Ogidimela new yam festival, which took place at the weekend in Ogidi-Ijumu, informed of Yorubas’ preparedness to take over power in the state.
