Sen. Paulinus Nwagu, Chairman, Senate Committee on Police Affairs, at a news conference in Abuja on Wednesday, declared his intention to contest the 2015 governorship election in Ebonyi.
He said he took the decision due to pressure from the people of the state.
He said this announcement was not an official declaration but an `acceptance of the call from the people of Ebonyi state.’
``In total obedience to this clarion call from my people, I have decided to make myself available to them as a gubernatorial aspirant in Ebonyi under the PDP.
``This is a mere indication and affirmation of my intention to run for the office of governor of Ebonyi, not a campaign for the contest’’, Nwagu said.
He said he would commence his campaign when the PDP released its election guidelines.
Nwagu also appealed to the media to support his aspiration.
