In what can be described as a first encouraging step for Avocats Sans Frontières (ASF), France, the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice on January 31, 2014, ordered the federal government of Nigeria and Edo State government to remove one Mr Thankgod Ebhos from death row.
Ebhos has been on death row for 18 years
In a statement signed by ASF communication officer Esther Akpa, Mr Thankgod Ebhos has faced imminent threat of execution since June 24, 2013, when he was taken to the gallows alongside four other inmates executed in Benin Prison.
