The Egyptian police have forcefully dispersed supporters of ousted Egyptian leader, Mohammed Morsi.
Morsi who is a member of the Egyptian brotherhood was deposed in July by the army and an interim government has long been set up.
Pro-Morsi supporters went to a government compound to protest the appointment of army officers as local governors.Local residents then clashed with the pro-Morsi crowd .Bottles, stones were thrown by both ends, and the police had to intervene.
According to witnesses, residents pelted the demonstrators from balconies, taunting them by calling them terrorists.
The Egyptian Brotherhood alongside other Pro- morsi supporters are insisting on the reinstatement of Morsi.
Millions of Egyptians had protested in favour of Mr Morsi's removal, but correspondents say his ousting appears to be deepening the divisions in Egyptian society.
