Four additional governorship candidates have emerged under various political parties in preparation for the June 21 governorship election in Ekiti State.
Parties whose candidates emerged on Thursday included those of All Progressives Grand Alliance,APGA, Accord Party, MEGA Party and United Peoples Party, UPP.
The primaries that produced the candidates were coming just as the deadline set by INEC for parties to end primaries expires on April 14.
Those who were either elected or affirmed by the parties are Mr Kole Ajayi,(Accord Party), Dr Tola Ogundana,(UPP), Mr Bola Akinwale, (MEGA party ) and Dr Gbenga Afeni,(APGA).
None of the candidates had challengers and were adopted by delegates in a peaceful atmosphere. Though, security was tight at the different venues, the exercise was devoid of violence.
Top officials of INEC from the state were on hand to supervise the primaries while the national headquarters of the different parties sent down representatives to monitor the proceedings.
