Barr Kole Ajayi, Accord governorship candidate for the forthcoming coming Ekiti governorship election has promised to convert the new Government House on Ayoba Hill, Ado Ekiti to a hotel, saying it is unnecessary and economically wasteful.
According to National Mirror,speaking in Ado Ekiti while addressing members of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT, Ajayi, said that a government headed by the Accord party would not embark on any project not in tandem with the people’s economic yearning. He said that converting the new government house into a five-star hotel will boost the state’s tourism potentials.
He further described the existing Government House as one of the best in the country, "hence there is no need for another one, not even the one on top of the hill that will not make the governor accessible".
As part of his campaign promises, Ajayi promised teachers in the state better incentives.
