Kaduna state governor, Malam Nasir El-rufai and his deputy, Bantext are currently at the High Court to testify in the libel suit filed against The Union in 2015 over a scurrilous asset story.
Nigerian Bulletin recall that Governor El-Rufai had in July 2015 sued The Union newspaper, based in Lagos, for reporting that he declared assets worth N90billion before the Code of Conduct Bureau.
After signing the writ of summons at the court registry two years, Mr. El-Rufai denied having assets worth N90 billion.
He described The Union newspaper story as "untrue and malicious".
