The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, on Monday spoke on Igbo- Hausa relationships.
Emir Sanusi said the Hausa communities in Kano have no grudge against Igbo residents in the state. He made the remark while hosting members of the Abia state Council of Chiefs led by its chairman, Ebere Chidik at his palace.
He said: “The Hausa have for decades been accommodating the Igbos without grudge, animosity and rancour. The time has come for both parties to comprehend the peculiar interest of each other and there was no justifiable premise for the two Communities to begrudge one another. ''
''The Igbos are fully embraced and treated with kid gloves in virtually all spheres of human endeavour. If there was animosity and rancour from their host community, they (Igbos) would have found it very difficult to co-exist cordially.”
