Politics Enugu Govt. awards N2.6bn contract for ICT Facilities in New Secretariat

The #Enugu State Government on Thursday awarded N2.6 billion contract for the supply and installation of Information Communication Technology (ICT) facilities in the new state secretariat.

The Commissioner for Information, Mr Chuks Ugwoke, made this known when he briefed newsmen on the outcome of the State Executive Council in Enugu.

Ugwoke said the contract awarded to Tenece Professional Services Ltd., would also include the new governor’s office at the government house.

He said the job would involve procurement and installation of sundry components, including Avaya Unified Communication, printers and scanners as well as HP networking for 4,000 users and servers.

According to him, it will provide more conducive working environment for enhanced productivity and efficiency.

The commissioner said the council also approved the supply and installation of audiovisual conferencing solution and integrated electronic documentation management system at the new governor’s office.

He said the council also approved the supply and installation of furniture at the state Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.

He explained that the project would cover the governor’s and deputy governor’s wings, main entrance lobby as well as offices and staff quarters at the cost of N78.46 million.

The other decisions at the meeting, include the award of contract for the supply of science equipment on the three main subjects of biology, chemistry and physics at the cost of N52 million.

According to him, this will ensure improved teaching and learning of core science subjects in all the public secondary schools in the state.
