Mr Chukwuemeka Enoch, Managing Partner, Magnific and Gas Ltd, on Tuesday in an interview with newsmen in Lagos advised the Federal Government to have a rethink on its plans to relocate the tank farms in Apapa, Lagos.
Some residential estates within the area had severally urged government to relocate the tank farms in Apapa because of the inherent dangers in the area.
Mr. Leke Oyewole, the Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on Maritime Matters, on April 16, announced that the tank farms would be relocated.
"There is need for government to put things in the right perspective because tank farms are usually located close to the ports globally, due to their closeness to the sea," Enoch said.
"Tank farms in Apapa only need some measures by government through policy implementation on ways to reduce the hazards and congestion in the area, and not a total relocation," he said.
