The family of a twelve year old boy in Southwest Florida has decided to donate his organs after he became diagnosed with a rare and deadly brain-eating amoeba infection.
Zachary Reyna, 12, became infected with the amoeba on the third of August when he went snowboarding with his friends in a ditch close to his family’s home in LaBelle. Doctors have informed his parents that his brain has suffered extensive damage.
Reyna’s parents say that his spirit will “always be among us.”
The family announced on Facebook that they will be donating Reyna’s organs to people who need it, or as they put it, people “waiting on a miracle.”
According to their Facebook activity, funeral arrangements are yet to be made for Zachary Reyna.
