Former governor of Lagos, Babatunde Fashola missed the 2017 Eyo festival as part of plans for the Lagos at 50 and in honour of late Oba Yekini Elegushi.

The last Eyo festival was done during the administration of the Minister of works, power and housing, Mr. Fashola
