Controversial former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode yesterday quit the All Progressives Congress (APC) barely a year after joining it. He had sparked speculations in this direction when he recently made a surprise visit to President Goodluck Jonathan of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), whose regime he loved to tear apart.
Although Fani-Kayode defended the visit, saying he was not about to quit APC, he issued a statement last night confirming his exit from the mega opposition party. Although he did not mention names, Fani-Kayode in a statement published on his Facebook page indicted that the conduct and utterances of APC National Leaders Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Tinubu, as well as that of Borno Governor Kashim Shettima, contributed informed his decision to dump the party.
