Metro FG Declares Oct 1 As Public Holiday

The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, October 1, as public holiday to mark Nigeria's 54th Independence Anniversary.

This was disclosed by a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by the Ministry of Interior.

The Minister of Interior, Mr Abba Moro, who made the declaration on behalf of government, congratulated
all Nigerians.

He urged Nigerians to build a more united and virile nation.

The statement also enjoined all Nigerians to use the period to reflect on the giant strides made by government in the development of the country in our collective efforts to build a more formidable Nigeria.
