A federal delegate at the ongoing National Conference on Thursday asked President Goodluck Jonathan not to consider granting amnesty to the Boko Haram sect.
Chief Asara A Asara, who spoke at the plenary yesterday, said it would be inappropriate to grant terrorists amnesty such as was obtained in the Niger Delta where some militants were fighting a genuine course.
He said the sect were killers who have taken arms against the state and should be treated as such.
“It is only in Nigeria that when a group has taken arms and killing that government will talk about granting them amnesty,” Asara said.
