Sports FIFA ranking: Nigeria now ranked 33rd in the world

In the latest FIFA ranking released on Thursday, Nigeria have moved up just one place to 33rd position in the world.

Nigeria was previously ranked 34th in the world after the 2014 World Cup tournament in Brazil,but they have now made a little leap on the table.

The Super Eagles have been able to poll a total of 673 points which moved them above Egypt and they are now the third best team on the continent.

Algeria remains the highest ranked African team in the 24th position,followed by Ivory Coast in the 25th position.

Only Algeria and Ivory Coast are ranked above Nigeria in Africa,with the Super Eagles now improving and steadily climbing the table.

The first five positions in the world remains unchanged with Germany occupying the top spot having polled a total of 1705 points to cement first spot.

Argentina,Netherlands are in second and third positions respectively,while Colombia and Belgium trail in fourth and fifth positions in that order.
