The Adamawa state Acting Governor, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri, won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial primary election held in Yola on Saturday.
Announcing the result on Sunday, the Chairman of the Election Committee, Mr Dimeji Bankole, said Fintiri scored 624 votes to emerge winner.
Dr Ahmed Modibbo, the former Universal Basic Education Commission boss, came second with 197 votes followed by Buba Marwa with 54 votes.
Dr Umar Ardo got nine votes while Jerry Kundisi scored four votes.
Bankole said there were 25 invalid votes.
