Another potential terrorist attack in Tunisia has been foiled by government forces, just two weeks after 30 Brits were massacred in the country, BBC reports.
The country’s interior ministry confirmed a counter-terrorism unit had killed five suspected extremists with three escaping in a mountain gunfight in the Gafsa region.
‘Tunisian Special Forces acted swiftly as the evacuation got under way to stop them launching another attack,’ he said.
Minister Kamel Jendoubi said his country regretted the UK government’s decision to advise Brits to leave the country.
Tunisia has deployed 100,000 security personnel to protect the country and prevent new attacks, following the murder of 38 people at Sousse.
