AGAINST raging controversy trailing the outcome of the Ekiti State governordhip election in the opposition quarters, the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday, in Abuja, gave four reasons the party emerged victorious.
Briefing journalists at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, said the party won the election due to the popularity of its candidate, adherence to due process, President Goodluck Jonathan’s insistence on the right thing and effective communication ability of the party.
Giving the reasons for the victory, Metuh said: “First is the incontrovertible popularity and acceptability of our candidate over and above his opponents, which is essentially the basis of the genuineness of the massively unprecedented crowd that attended his rallies. This again fore grounded the fact that the APC was not really on the ground and lacked the support of the people.
