Gambians are celebrating on the street because they believe that the opposition candidate Adama Barrow has defeated long-time ruler Yahya Jammeh in the country's presidential election.
A BBC correspondent in The Gambia said Mr Barrow was in the lead with more than half the results in.
Unofficial Results show Barrow 44%, Jammeh 40% in the keenly contested race
Consultant Jeffrey Smith says the election will be decided by voters in the constituency of Serekunda-West.
Serekunda is the country's biggest urban centre and is situated a few miles southwest of the capital Banjul.
President Yahya Jammeh, who said he would rule for the next billion years seems to have lost this election.
