Some supporters of former Ivorian President, Laurent Gbagbo, have come together to form a political party; the United Peoples Front (UPF), which would stand by the ideology of the former president, an official statement signed by Mr Zadi Djeje, the party's president said on Monday in Abidjan.
``We will continue to ask for the release of our leaders and members held in prison detentions.
``It is our belief that the release of Gbgabo remains necessary in our nation’s effort to ensure genuine reconciliation,’’ it said.
According to the statement, the party is mainly made of up youths from the former ruling party; the Ivorian Popular Front (FPI)
The statement said the UPF would set a new agenda that would support reconciliation in the interest of the country.
