The Clerk, Adamawa House of Assembly, Mr Francis Gabsenso, has said that he was yet to serve Gov. Murtala Nyako and his deputy, Mr Bala Ngilari, the notices of impeachment.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the Speaker, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri, on Wednesday directed the Clerk to serve the duo with the notices of impeachment.

The Clerk, who spoke with newsmen on the development on Thursday in Yola, said he was yet to serve the governor and his deputy who were out of town.

``I went to their respective offices but met their absence,’’ Gabsenso said.

Alhaji Ibrahim Waziri, a former member of the state House of Assembly, told NAN that the Clerk was wrong in attempting to serve the governor and his deputy with the notices without the House sitting and adopting the procedures of the day.

He urged the House to stop what he described as ``rush to impeach’’ the governor and his deputy.

He said the move portrayed the lawmakers as pursuing a selfish agenda in which the Speaker and his deputy would be the major beneficiaries.

Waziri urged the legislators and executive to resolve their misunderstanding amicably in the interest of peace and development of the state.
