Lagos state Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has welcomed a 4-time world heavyweight champion, Evander Holyfield . The Governor held a short meeting with him at the State house in Alausa.
Governor Ambode posted a picture of the boxing legend and himself on his instagram page with the caption: ''Lagos welcomes a 4-time world heavy weight champion, Evander Holyfield. An icon. A champion. Our pride.''
Ambode also noted that the state will collaborate with Evander Holyfield Foundation and its ideals to promote youth engagements through sports.
Evander arrived Nigeria yesterday ahead of the exhibition boxing match against former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu. The fight, “Rumbles in Lagos’’, will hold on May 25.
