Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, on Saturday announced a five percent increase of workers’ salaries in the state from October, 2016.

He timed the announcement to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the state’s creation and Nigeria’s 56th independence anniversary.

Ebonyi was created in 1996 by Sani Abacha, Nigeria’s former head of state, alongside five other states.
