Ripples of the letter by the Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako, to the northern states governors alleging genocide against some northern states continued yesterday as two pro-presidency groups, ‘The Save Adamawa State Movement (SASM) and the United Nigeria Forum (UNF) called for the resignation of the governor over his indictment by the expanded national security council meeting that took place last week, saying it brought shame to the state.
Specifically, SASM called on the federal government to impose a full scale state of emergency in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States in which the governors would be removed from office and allow the military to take full control of the administration of the states.
The UNF, a coalition of some civil rights groups, demanded that the state House of Assembly should commence impeachment proceedings against Nyako.
