On Wednesday evening,unknown gunmen kidnapped three chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers state.
According to Vanguard, Mr Felix Obuah, Rivers state Chairman of the PDP said the men were abducted at Eagle Highland area of Port Harcourt by heavily armed men.
Obuah named the abducted men as, Hon Chinyere Igwe, Chairman, Port Harcourt Local Government Area chapter of the PDP;Mr Ikechi Chinda and Mr Alwell Ihunda.
Obuah, who said the abduction was politically motivated, wondered why only members of his party were abducted while they were in the midst of others that evening. He also said that the PDP was prepared to protest the kidnap if the trio were not released within 72 hours.
