Metro Hajj: Over 2000 Bauchi State Pilgrims Airlifted To Saudi Arabia

Hajj pilgrims have begun to depart for the city of Mecca Saudi Arabia as over 2000 pilgrims from Bauchi State had already been airlifted from the country, Daily Trust reports.

Speaking to journalist shortly after the departure of the aircraft at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi, Executive secretary of the state Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Aliyu Suleiman, said the last batch of the flight would be leaving for Saudi on Tuesday morning.

He apologised to the pilgrims for the delay experienced beffore the take off of the flight, promising that the pilgrims would arrive Saudi Arabia in good time.

The Amirul Hajj and Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu who is alo present at the airport enjoined the intending pilgrims to refrain from rumour mongering and other bad conducts and support the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board. He called on the pilgrims to be law abiding and respect constituted authorities for success of the exercise.

The Hajj exercise is an annual pilgrimage attended by Muslims from all over the world in the city of Mecca Saudi Arabia. This year's edition was almost suffering a setback as a construction crane fell into the Mecca grand mosque, killing 107 people and injuring about 238 others. Saudi Authorities however have assured intending pilgrims that the Hajj would continue despite the disaster.
