Coromo, Dan-Anacha and Mutum Biyu Communities in Gassol area of Taraba State have suffered a brutal attack on Friday by Fulani herdsmen leaving 12 people dead, and 18 others seriously wounded. In a report filed by VANGUARD, armed soldiers and riot policemen have now taken over the affected communities that left seven men, two women and children dead, and 13 houses burnt.
The herdsmen reportedly stormed the communities at night and attacked Tivs who had return to farm on their lands. It was gathered that hundreds of the natives of the areas fled to other nieghbouring villages while others ran to Gassol B Police Divisional Headquarters for safety.
