The first case of coronavirus in Nigeria was reported in Nigeria in late February 2020. The carrier travelled from Italy, via Turkey to Lagos. once in Lagos, he spent a night at a hotel close to the airport before travelling to Ogun state where he was working as a consultant with LaFarge. Once he became ill, the medics acted quickly and he was moved to Lagos for treatment.

Nigeria now has now recorded 44 cases of covid-19 in Nigeria and one death.
