Due to the reported assassination attempt on the life of the Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has condemned the reported assassination attempt and has called upon the authorities to conduct relevant and professional investigation in order to bring the instigators of such a sinister act to justice.
Many have speculated that this "assassination attempt" on the politically troubled Oduah is nothing but a hoax and a diversion attempt to distract Nigerians from the issue at hand. The National Coordinator, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko and Miss. Zainab Yusuf, the National Director of Media Affairs have spoken against such thinking, condemning it and asking for sympathy for the Minister.
