The Nigeria Employers' Consultative Association (NECA) Monday alerted the federal government of the daunting challenges private sector employers have had to grapple with on account of the insecurity challenges confronting the country.
The umbrella body for the private sector employers in the country painted a gloomy picture of shrinking market for products in the country as a result of the restiveness in the northern part of the country.
The revelation of the gloomy picture is coming as the planned security meeting between President Goodluck Jonathan and state governors is expected to be full of drama as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governors plan to confront Jonathan on a wide range of issues.
The Director General of NECA, Mr. Segun Oshinowo, who spoke to THISDAY, affirmed that keeping businesses alive in a tough and hostile environment had been a major challenge for members.
He lamented that the threat posed by the Boko Haram sect had had adverse consequences on businesses, noting that it has paralysed businesses in some northern part of the country and stifled productive activities.
