Sports It is going to be difficult for Nigeria to qualify for 2015 Nations Cup - Christain Chukwu

Former Super Eagles coach Christain Chukwu has expressed fears that Nigeria might not qualify for the 2015 African Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles are in a precarious situation, having only a point after two matches and are third in group A.

Nigeria on Wednesday failed to a win against South Africa, compounding to their bad start in the qualifiers after losing at home to Congo last weekend.

Chukwu said that he was disappointed Nigeria couldn't beat South Africa.

“I’m quite disappointed we didn’t win, honestly. I thought it was a game we should have won but we didn’t,”Chukwu was quoted to have said on Vanguard Sports

“I thought we didn’t show enough bite and didn’t really trouble the South Africans. There were no real chances created and the strikers felt slightly isolated.”

The former Green Eagles captain added that it is now going to be difficult to secure qualification.

“It’s difficult now, because Congo and South Africa have more points than us and we still have to play in Brazzaville and Sudan.

“We have home games against Sudan and South Africa and we should focus on getting the results in those games,” he said.
