Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay, has stated that Nigerians should be grateful for Muhammadu Buhari being President.
“If Buhari had not come, I don’t think there would have been a country,” Mr. Sagay said on Monday.
In a statement he delivered at an event held to appraise the one year since the creation of his committee, he said Nigeria would've gone from bad to worse had PDP remained in power.
According to him corruption was so pervasive under successive PDP administrations that judges allegedly allowed themselves to become a rubber stamp for electoral malpractice.
Such vices, and others similar to them, were responsible for the prevailing level of mediocrity in governance, he said.
“We know of some governors who are not supposed to be there, but found themselves on the bloody seats with the help of some judges,” he added.
