We reported details of how American rap star, Jay Z plotted the take-over of the Ace of Spade Champagne also known by the name of the company that produces it; Armand De Brignac but fresh facts have emerged, which reveal that the rap star parted with a whooping $200 million for his stake in owning the brand.
Sources have revealed that Jay Z snapped up the brand to beef up Roc Nation’s liquor portfolio, which also includes D’Ussé cognac.
We also gathered that Jay Z told friends that his 'undisclosed investment,' which sells for $225 (about N40,000) and up per bottle, is $200 million.
Interestingly, industry experts initially estimated the investment to have been worth much less; putting the investment at about $25 million to $30 million at most.
There are strong indications that Jay Z appears to be eager to catch up with Puff Daddy's (also known as Diddy) Ciroc vodka with the spirit’s value soaring toward $1 billion.
