On Monday, a Federal High Court in Dutse, Jigawa State, ordered all banks operating in the state to freeze accounts bearing the names of Governor Sule Lamido, Birnin-Kudu Local Government and the Jigawa State Government.
VANGUARD reports that the court also ordered the banks to tender account statements for the named accounts.
The court order follows the refusal of the state government to pay the sum of N50 million as damage compensation to All Progressives Congress, APC senator-elect, Muhammad Nakudu and one other as was ruled in an earlier court judgement.
