The National Association of Nigerian Students
(NANS) said that if President Jonathan paid the same level of attention to ASUU as he does to the PDP crisis, ASUU strike would have been called off by now.

His refusal to participate in negotiations and instead leaving the matter in Governor Suswam's and the NEEDS committee's hands is a sign of his uncaring attitude towards the future of Nigerian Students.

Excerpts from the statement: “It is sad that ASUU has been on strike for over two months now without government acceding to their demands

“The committee set up by Mr. President to
look into the matter has failed woefully,
hence the need for the President to personally take over from the committee.

“President Goodluck has been having series of meetings towards resolving PDP crises but he has no time to attend to ASUU’s strike.

“If President Goodluck Jonathan gives
maximum attention to ASUU strike as he is
presently doing with PDP crisis, ASUU would have called off the strike by now.”

This is exactly what I have been saying. How can "our president" take the time to personally address party matters and fail to attend one (for Christ's sake, just ONE!!) of the unending ASUU negotiations.

Sometimes I think our leaders take us as one big joke for their amusement.
