Operation Pulo Shield conducted by the Joint Military Task Force in Delta State, has reported that they have shut down no less than 134 illegal crude oil refinery camps in the states of Bayelsa and Rivers. It was also reported that 34 Cotonou boats, 36 pumping machines and 12 illegal oil dumps have been seized as known to be used by the alleged oil bandits.
The JTF Media Coordinator, Col. Onyema Nwachukwu, released a statement mentioning that some of the camps had been funded by oil thieves before the JTF discovered and put an end to their thievery.
Other discoveries were also made and tools used to steal oil seized by the JTF.
