The Joint Task Force code named Operation Pulo Shield, according to Col Onyema Nwachukwu, spokesman of the force, has rescued three kidnapped Indians- Kanishk Johrar, Mohinder Saini and Balwinder Singh- from a hideout in fishing settlement of Abissa in Akuku Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.

He said the Indians were abducted by gunmen a month ago aboard a fishing trawler in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea and moved to Nigeria by the kidnappers.

“A combined crack squad of the 130 Battalion of the JTF, the Nigerian Navy and the Department of State Service, DSS, in Rivers State, have rescued three Indians abducted by a gang of nine kidnappers in Rivers State.

“The combined security squad swung into action after tracking the abductors to their hideout. They also arrested five suspects, while others are on the run," he added.
