Politics Kebbi: Governor Bagudu Earmarks N3.6bn for Schools Rehabilitation

Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has earmarked N3.6 billion for the rehabilitation and construction of primary and junior secondary schools.

Alhaji Magawata Aliero, the state Commissioner for Education, said this in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.

He said that government had also earmarked N80.5 million for workshops, training and capacity building for secondary and primary school teachers.

Aliero said that government was committed to transforming the education sector through provision of equipment, teacher training and promotion of welfare of teachers.

He advised teachers to take their responsibility of imparting knowledge to students seriously, warning that the government would not condone laxity and indolence.

He said that only hard working teachers would be rewarded.

The Kebbi State Government earmarked N26 billion to the education in its 2016 budget.
